Syft Technologies designs and manufactures a revolutionary Mass Spectrometer (SIFT-MS) that enables detection of virtually all gaseous chemicals down to pptv in seconds. Customers include Baker Hughes, Samsung, Ford Motor Company, LG, SC Johnson and others who love Syft’s speed, ease of use, very low detection limits, low consumable costs and the ability to measure compounds that are difficult for other techniques: amines, sulphides, aldehydes and reactive species. This ground breaking technique emerged out of investigations of ion chemistry in the Earth’s atmosphere, and other planetary atmospheres, and was developed further at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. In 2002, Syft Technologies was formed, providing sufficient funding to take this academic research into a fully developed commercial solution. Now Syft instruments are sold throughout the world, in a wide range of applications as diverse as mud logging, to cutting-edge breath research.
