We have an opportunity for a dynamic and creative Social Media and Community Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience within the outdoor industry and a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies. They will be responsible for coordinating our social media presence, managing our athlete marketing program, collaborating with PR, digital media, and influencers, and creating engaging content across various platforms.

This role will be responsible for developing and implementing our social media strategy in order to increase our online presence and improve our marketing and sales efforts. This role will be working closely with the wider marketing and creative departments.

This role is being advertised in two locations - Wānaka, New Zealand and Squamish, Canada, but there is only one available position. Please apply for the location where you currently reside and hold the right to work. Unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship or relocation for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and traffic.
  • Manage social media channels, including but not limited to Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute athlete marketing campaigns.
  • Utilize digital PR tactics to enhance brand visibility and reputation online through product seeding, ambassador programs, and press releases.
  • Identify and engage with athletes, own the athlete program to amplify our reach and impact.
  • Monitor social media trends and content analytics to optimize content and performance.
  • Create compelling copy and content for social media posts, YouTube/ TikTok shorts, and other digital platforms.
  • Maintain a social media content calendar and schedule posts accordingly.
  • Foster a sense of community among our followers by actively engaging with comments, messages, and mentions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in social media and digital marketing.
  • Communicate effectively to all stakeholders including senior management and content developers.
