The Role:
We are seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all cost accounting activities for the forestry and sawmill operations of the company. This newly created role involves analysing financial data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, providing financial insights, and ensuring accurate cost allocation and reporting.
To succeed on this senior role you should demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and commercial nuance and maintain positive relationships across the organisation effectively to increase profitability and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CIMA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proven experience in cost accounting, preferably in the forestry, sawmill manufacturing, or related industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems (JDE/Oracle/SAP) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis using visual reports/charts.
- Knowledge of New Zealand accounting standards and regulations is advantageous.
