The Opportunity
We have a great opportunity for a Senior Information Security Analyst to play a critical role in helping safeguard the Gallagher Group’s networks and systems. Your primary focus will be on security monitoring and incident response, ensuring that we promptly detect and address any cybersecurity threats. Reporting to the Information Security Manager, you’ll also be supporting the enhancement of Gallagher’s security culture, maturity, and resilience.
The Fit
The role requires security expertise and technical skills in various IT domains, as well as a pragmatic and risk-managed approach to cyber security. You’ll have proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on security monitoring and incident response. To be successful in this role, you’ll also need:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Security Analyst
- Tertiary IT degree and/or relevant industry certification
- Industry certifications: CompTIA CySA+, GIAC GCIH, ITIL Foundation
- Core Cybersecurity Knowledge: Understanding of computer networking, security protocols, and methodologies, along with risk management processes and cybersecurity laws and ethics.
- Threats and Defences: Awareness of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and the methods for their detection and mitigation, including the use of cyber defence tools and knowledge of incident response.
- System and Application Security: Understanding of system and application vulnerabilities, such as buffer overflows and various types of code injection attacks, and the means to secure systems against them.
- Attack Dynamics: Insight into network attacks, their relationship to threats and vulnerabilities, and the stages of cyber-attacks from reconnaissance to covering tracks.
- Adversarial Knowledge: Familiarity with adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures, including different classes of attacks and the profiles of cyber attackers.
- Operational Security Tools: Proficiency in using tools for packet-level analysis and signature implementation for identifying and mitigating viruses, malware, and other attacks.
- Knowledge of penetration testing principles, tools, and techniques.
- Demonstratable understanding of incident response and handling methods.
- Knowledge with cyber-attack stages like recon, scanning, access, privilege escalation, maintaining access, network exploitation, and evasion.
- Working knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Skilled in using Microsoft tools such as MS Teams and MS Word.
- Proficient in communicating effectively in both written and spoken English.
- Demonstrate application of the following SFIA skills.
