The Role:

We are now looking for two experienced and motivated candidates to take on the roles of Mechanical Maintenance Foreman at our Triboard Mill in Kaitaia. These are full time permanent positions working a minimum of 40 hours per week.

The purpose of the Mechanical Maintenance Forman is to lead a team of maintenance fitters through the required daily activities of preventative and reactive maintenance. You will maintain our equipment assets to a high level of reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate daily work orders to the maintenance fitters and ensure all repairs are completed properly and within a reasonable time frame
  • Ensure all planned maintenance for the day are allocated
  • Ensure all repairs from downtime events are achieved in a safe and timely manner
  • Escalate critical requirements
  • Communicate and provide feedback on asset status and priorities
  • Ensure all Fitters have the required tools and training is kept up to date
  • Assist Maintenance Fitters for complex works
  • Provide hands on training and development
  • Directly supervise Apprentices through their training requirements
  • Follow the correct stores processes
  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure work shop is kept clean and tidy

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a mill or related industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills are essential
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proven problem solving & analytical skills
  • Strong organisation and prioritising skills
  • Risk management experience
  • Strategic alignment skills
