The Role:

We are now looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to take on the role of Team Leader at our Energy Centre/Wood Prep department at our Triboard Mill. This is a full-time permanent position working a minimum of 40 hours per week.

The purpose of the Energy Centre/Wood Prep Team Leader is to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of the wood prep & energy centre at all times.

You will provide leadership to the wood prep & energy centre team to ensure all training is coordinated and delivered effectively, leave is planned and taken, and role coverage co-ordinated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and developing the Wood Prep and Energy centre team, including ensuring all training requirements are met, including cross training of operators
  • Ensuring direct engagement with Boardline operations employees to maintain production requirements.
  • Ensure the safety, operation and maintenance of boiler systems, including scheduled inspections and annual overhauls occur as required.
  • Rectifying maintenance requirements timely and accurately
  • Make sure that operational efficiency and safety is maintained through planned preventive maintenance tasks
  • Keeping operational documents up to date and developing new operational documents as required.
  • Assisting with project work and shut downs as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Trade Qualification (would be an advantage)
  • National Certificate in Energy Chemical operations Level 3 (would be an advantage)
  • Full NZ Drivers Licence, F Endorsement desirable
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Mill or related Boiler operations
  • Understanding and application of JDE maintenance (or similar system)
  • Leadership of a multi-disciplinary team (preferred)
  • Problem solving & analytical skills (fault determination and rectification)
  • Strong organising and prioritising skills
  • Strong communication & relationship management skills.
