Juken New Zealand Ltd (JNL) is a global company operating in local and global timber markets. JNL owns three wood processing plants in the North Island, and forests in the East Coast and Wairarapa regions. We have been heavily involved with the NZ forestry and wood-processing industries for 30 years – manufacturing advanced and innovative wood products from selectively planted, managed and harvested Radiata Pine for local and export markets.

The Opportunity:

JNL is seeking an experienced Electrical Team Leader to support our Kaitaia Mills. This is a full time permanent role working 42 hours per week. Some shift work will be required.

About the role:

You will be responsible for the oversight of all on-site services and will assist the Maintenance and Engineering Managers with the co-ordination of capital and major maintenance projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising staff, planning and coordinating day to day Mill Site Service activities
  • Supporting employees and contractors to achieve Site Service quality and efficiency KPI measures within budget and in accordance with JNL’s standards
  • Assisting the Maintenance Manager with annual programmes and projects
  • Develop, audit, and report on performances, significant site issues and making recommendations for improvement
  • Lead, promote and maintain Health and Safety within the workplace
  • Advise on staff training requirements

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Team Leader role within Maintenance, Construction or Manufacturing industries.
  • Electrical registration with Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) or proof of eligibility.
  • Supervisory, staff management experience
  • Ideally experience working with the following equipment:

- 11kV and 3.3kV motors and starters up to 2,200kW;

- 415 volt variable speed drives and soft starters from 0.18kW to 200kW

- PLC systems which control a large amount of the plant and are used to assist in fault finding.

- Pressure and flow transmitters and other instrumentation.

- Knowledge of jde maintenance software system

- Knowledge of motors (AC & DC), variable speed drives, motor controls and switchgear, PLC’s, instrumentation etc.
