Juken New Zealand Ltd (JNL) is an international company operating in local and global timber markets. JNL owns four wood processing plants in the North Island, and forests in the Wairarapa and East Coast regions. We work closely with our parent company in Japan – WoodOne.
We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join the business in the position of Technical Coordinator to join our busy team at our Gisborne Mills. In this role you will be reporting to the General Manager and will be the key technical manufacturing support to the production team.
This is a full time permanent salary role working 40 hours per week.
Remuneration:
$70,000 – 90,000 per annum
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Advising the Production Manager and Supervisors on technical and management issues related to the manufacturing operations and processes, including Japanese customer production requirements and despatch of product
- Developing technical capability of production employees to meet international requirements
- Liason with WoodOne to ensure the Mill fulfill’s WoodOne’s production requirements
- Supporting the Mill Manager to ensure effective and profitable management of mill production and manufacturing operations and processes.
- Providing oversight of manufacturing programmes, productivity and maintenance / project targets, monitoring and reporting on achievements.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following attributes:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 4 years’ experience in saw mill management
- High technical competence in wood processing manufacturing, specifically for the Japanese market
- Fluent in Japanese
- Ability to hold business conversations in English
- Focus on ensuring a safe and healthy workplace environment
- Ability to think innovatively and analytically
