At Juken New Zealand we manufacture high quality solid wood & laminated veneer lumber products. We're looking for an Engineering Team Leader to provide leadership and direction to our mechanical staff. You will be based in our Gisborne Mill.
Remuneration:
$40-$46 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with electrical and production departments to coordinate maintenance
- Scheduling, assigning, planning, and monitoring the work of mechanical personnel
- Preparing and monitoring the acquisition and use of materials and labour to ensure efficient and cost effective use
- Planning and developing work schedules and procedures
- Ensuring appropriate training, cross skilling and knowledge sharing is achieved
- Cataloguing and retention of machine/mechanical information
Skills and Experience:
- 5 + years’ experience in mechanical engineering
- A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience within forestry/wood is desirable
- Strong problem solving & analytical skills
- Strong communication & relationship management skills
- Ability to communicate information clearly
- High level analytical and strategic planning skills and the ability to manage and supervise staff
- Excellent interpersonal and people management skills are essential
