At Juken New Zealand we manufacture high quality solid wood & laminated veneer lumber products. We're looking for an Engineering Team Leader to provide leadership and direction to our mechanical staff. You will be based in our Gisborne Mill.

Remuneration:

$40-$46 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with electrical and production departments to coordinate maintenance
  • Scheduling, assigning, planning, and monitoring the work of mechanical personnel
  • Preparing and monitoring the acquisition and use of materials and labour to ensure efficient and cost effective use
  • Planning and developing work schedules and procedures
  • Ensuring appropriate training, cross skilling and knowledge sharing is achieved
  • Cataloguing and retention of machine/mechanical information

Skills and Experience:

  • 5 + years’ experience in mechanical engineering
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience within forestry/wood is desirable
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills
  • Strong communication & relationship management skills
  • Ability to communicate information clearly
  • High level analytical and strategic planning skills and the ability to manage and supervise staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills are essential
