Business Development Manager - Land & Water Care

Purpose of Position
A key member of the cross functional Product Solutions team(s), the role partners closely with the relevant Product Solutions team members, in region sales and marketing teams and customers to drive growth in their assigned category/categories. A key influencer of customer buying behaviors, this role is accountable for identifying and growing category product outcomes in the territories they support.
As a strong voice of the relevant customer base in region, this role will carry out targeted research/ customer insights activity to deliver insights that leads to increased sales through customer value led product development and targeted category and channel strategies in region. Kansas City area location is strongly desired, but remote candidates will be considered.
Travel: 30-40%, including international travel
Key Position Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development plans for the category that align brand, customer and field sales plans in support of category goals
- Provide leadership in promoting relevant Gallagher solutions, engaging with and developing new customers and channels
- Champion sales outcomes by supporting or leading major tenders, contract negotiation and implementation with the field sales teams
- Grow and develop major account business and distribution agreements where needed
- Seek out and secure strategic business alliances that support growth of the category
- Identify & cultivate relationships with key industry influencers
- Drive the on-going alignment of executable brand, customer and field sales plans that deliver on annual business targets for the category
- Collect and feed market insights to the Product Solutions team that informs regionally relevant product enhancements/iterations and new product development, contributing to the creation of the solution/product roadmaps
- Become an expert and evangelist for your category, share this passion and knowledge across your region to diverse stakeholders
- Maintain a deep understanding In region of developments in category, including knowledge of our competitors, product innovations and customer preferences
- Contribute to the channel strategy for the category as part of the cross functional Product Solutions Team
- Contribute to the pricing strategy for the category globally and in region
- Partner closely with in region Marketing team to announce all 'in region' new product releases, product upgrades, and product/packaging change notices
- Support the provision of forecasts and timelines for new products that will be launching into market
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Sales, or Agriculture
- Agricultural background is preferred
Proven Experience Required in:
- 5+ years business development, sales and/or product management experience
- Experience driving revenue growth
- Experience working within a globally focused business preferred
- Experience with Land & Water Care products preferred
