What we Need 🏄

At Paloma, we’re returning to global growth mode as the leading Venture Studio in Australia & New Zealand. We partner with companies to build world class digital products at all stages, helping them achieve their growth goals, while making pretty epic software solutions. We’ve built our client roster to include some of the coolest & most innovative tech startups, scaleups & enterprises across Australia, New Zealand & the USA.

To mirror our local success in the ANZ market, we’re looking to add a collaborative commercial team member who can positively impact our global new business reach. We’re aiming to be a world class technology services business in the next 3 years, and we want you to join us on this mission. We are ideally looking to someone who has pre-existing networks and relationships across Australia and the US, to help deepen our partnerships and hit our growth goals as a leading digital services provider. Representing our innovative ICP, this person would be 80% new business and 20% client management. At Paloma, we are huge advocates of flexible ways of working. We would prefer someone who is based in Sydney, but would consider outside of Sydney too.

What You’ll Do 🦾

  • Identify, Develop and Close new business opportunities within our ICP segments (you’ll be fully supported whilst learning our ICP, we’re very proud of it!)
  • Create a territory plan to market to the Australian and US tech industries
  • Work collaboratively with the commercial team & broader cross-functional technology function to ensure alignment on business goals
  • Craft and manage a robust sales pipeline through lead generation, networking, attending relevant events and strategic partnerships
  • Keep an accurate record of sales activities, customer interactions and opportunities using a CRM system - we use Hubspot, but any relevant CRM experience works for us
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape and market dynamics to align with your strategy towards new business efforts

What you Have 🦈

  • A pre-existing network of relationships across the Australian technology industry, ideally leaders across Tech, Product, Strategy and Digital Innovation.
  • End to end experience managing large, complex tech services or software deals with lengthy sales cycles (our sales cycle is typically 3-6 months)
  • Ability to switch gears across new business generation and account management
  • Proven success building rapport and engaging in strategic business level conversations with senior stakeholders

We have lovely offices in Darlinghurst (Sydney), Auckland and Wellington. We’ve put in a lot of work to make sure our offices are enjoyable places to spend time, so most of our team members split their time between the office (dog friendly) and home (children on laps during Zoom calls).

Paloma Ventures is an arm of the business where we found, fund, and build businesses from the ground up. Working at Paloma gives you an interest in current and future ventures. You can think of it like having access to an index fund of early stage technology companies. Three of our ventures have taken rounds of external funding and are in growth mode, having recently gone through Series A rounds. In other words, there's some real value there already.
